Tara Extreme Skymarathon

The start and finish are located in the village of Rastište, at the PK Tara Mountain Hut. From Sedaljka (445 m), the village center, the trail leads through the hamlets of Kozla and Orlov Vis to the Dujin Breg viewpoint (CP 1 & Aid Station). From there, the route passes Božurna and the Bilješka Stena viewpoint, reaching Smiljevac (1,445 m) – the highest point of the race. This segment features a brutal 1,130 m of vertical gain over just 9 km.

The first long descent follows, including a short gravel section to Galine (CP 2, Aid Station, and Cut-off 1: 12 km / 3 h). After the aid station, the descent continues for 1.5 km before the next climb begins, leading runners onto the rugged Galinik Ridge, the most technically demanding section of the race.

After descending from Galinik (1,305 m), the trail returns to the Galina Aid Station. From here, a technically easier section leads to Velika Stena (1,140 m), followed by a 5 km descent back to the Mountain Hut in Sedaljka (Aid Station, CP, and Cut-off 2: 24 km / 6 h).

Here is the beginning of the “second loop,” heading to the opposite side of the mountain with a new, long climb (10 km with 1,050m D+) via Topovi, Aluga, Trešnjevac, and Pasjača, up to the Aluška Planina ridge. The highest peak in this section is Detelin (1,326 m), followed by a descent to the Čemerišta CP and Aid Station.

The descent continues toward Kamenjača, followed by a new climb toward Kremići (Aid Station, CP, and Cut-off 3: 39 km / 10 h). The final ascent to Crni Vrh (1,251 m) is perhaps the “steepest” on the course, leading into a long and technical final descent toward the finish line in Rastište.

The overall time limit is 12 hours. Runners who do not finish within the time limit will not be classified and will not receive a finisher medal.
